MARCH 2021 (TUALATIN, OR) – HARTMANN&FORBES announces new additions to the highly successful Michael S. Smith Collection that originally launched two years ago. These two new designs embrace the organic nature inherent in all HARTMANN&FORBES products.
“The original Michael S. Smith collection was remarkably successful,” explains founder and chief creative officer Michael Jones. “When Michael expressed interest in collaborating once again to expand the collection, it was an irresistible proposition.”
The additions include one new embroidered wallcovering and one new Woven-to- Size Grassweave windowcovering, both in three complementary colorways.
WALLCOVERING
Madeleine - At once romantic and refined, the Madeleine wallcovering was inspired by a fern motif often used by Madeleine Castaing, the iconic 20th-century French designer and antiques dealer. Natural sisal is meticulously embroidered in a palette of sage, linden, and teal, creating a dimensional pattern of interlocking ferns, which is framed by a crisp windowpane grid. The wallcovering’s lyrical pattern and earthy colors pair perfectly with the Jacob Stripe windowcovering.
WINDOWCOVERING
Jacob Stripe - Lustrous, textural ramie is handwoven in a variegated-stripe pattern that recalls the charming scalloped shop awnings found in French seaside villages. Its relaxed, sun-washed look and soft-hued palette provide the perfect complement to the Madeleine wallcovering.
