GENERAL DESCRIPTIONGENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Sample Manufacturer is responsible for the cutting, gluing and assembly of sample materials and fulfilling sample request as per work order.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Evaluate the order for accuracy | 2% of time
- Read work order
- Check available inventory
- Measure and cut material into strips | 10% of time
- Pull material from roll goods area
- Measure and mark material to proper width
- if material needs to be glued, use paint brush and cold glue to seal material along the cut line
- Cut material using razor blade, scissors, tin snips or pinking machine or sheers
- Material slection & inspection | 3% of time
- Pull materials from shelves
- Verify material pulled matches request on the work order and the master
- Sample finishing | 10% of time
- Mark material to cut size and cut using razor blade, scissors, tin snips, pinking machine or sheers
- If material needs to be glued, place material in jig and glue to cut size using paint brush and cold glue
- Remove material from jig and cut using razor blade, scissors or tin snips
- Glue any unfinished edges as per specifications
- Sample Assembly | 65% of time
- Memos & Tabs
- Pull weave material from shelf along with corresponding chipboard tag or tab
- Hot glue material using hot glue gun to the chipboard tag or tab
- Allow finished material to dry
- If the production specifications require a hole, use Pneumatic hole punch or drill machine according to specs
- Place into inventory
- Binders and Designer Sample Kits
- Pull items listed on the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the specific build request including tabs, memo samples, binders, boxes, drawer assembly parts, inserts and/or indexes and miscellaneous Marketing Collateral
- Assemble as per Bill of Materials instructions
- Box and place into inventory
- Kits
- Pull items listed on the Bill of Materials
- Assemble items as per BOM
- Ship as directed or place into inventory
- Sample fulfillment | 10% of time
- Review Sales Order for items to be pulled
- Pull all items listed and check against Sales Order
- Pack order according to Sample Packaging Shipping directions (or smallest package possible)

- Putting items into inventory
- Packaging and shipping
- Maintain a clean and well organized work area
- Complete monthly cycle count and year-end inventory
- Replenish inventory
- Other duties as assigned

- Need to demonstrate use of measuring devices
- Need to demonstrate fine motor skills necessary for use of small tools and intricate work
EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:
- Double edge razor blade, scissors, tin snips, hot glue gun, paint brush, pneumatic hole punch, drill machine, pinking machine, hammer, screw driver, shrink wrap machine and hot air gun.
- Other Physical Requirements:
- Requires the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, closed toed shoes.

WORK ENVIRONMENTWORK ENVIRONMENT
- Non-environmentally controlled warehouse; work temperatures are cool during winter and warm during summer. Low noise levels will be experienced throughout the day do to use of compressors for pneumatic tools and saws. Daily exposure to natural materials such as Bamboo, Reed and Grasses as well as dust, vapors from non-hazard chemicals used to treat materials and limited exposure to lacquer fumes.
