THE 2025 SAN FRANCISCO DECORATOR SHOWCASE

Way out West: A Technicolor Time-out Designed by John Anderson, JKA Design | Photography by Christopher Stark

San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Each spring, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase transforms one of the city’s most celebrated homes into a canvas for artistry, design, and craftsmanship—all in support of the San Francisco University High School Financial Aid Program. Now in its 46th year, the Showcase has raised more than $19 million to date, helping make quality education accessible to deserving Bay Area students.

This year’s Showcase home was a 9,400-square-foot Tudor Revival in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood. Originally built in 1902 by architect Thomas Paterson Ross and later renovated in 2009, the five-level residence is filled with historic character and modern updates. With its grand foyer, wood-paneled living room, sweeping views, and expansive rooftop deck, the home provides an inspiring backdrop for the work of 19 Bay Area interior and landscape designers—each transforming a room into its own distinct design story.

Design Space: A Modern Library
Designer: Kathleen Navarra | Navarra Design
Photographer: Kurt Manley
Windowcovering: Old Style Roman Shades in LE4021 Jazz - Bridge from the Woven-to-Size Grassweave Collection customized with gold metallic warp threads.

With A Modern Library, Kathleen Navarra reinterprets a timeless space through a modern lens. Rich tones, layered textures, and architectural detail create a room that feels both dynamic and serene.

At the windows, Roman shades in LE4021 Jazz - Bridge—customized with gold warp threads—soften daylight and shimmer by evening, echoing the gold-leaf wallpaper lining the bookcases. The effect embodies what Navarra describes as “quiet luxury”: bold yet calm, richly textured, and refined in every detail.
