HARTMANN&FORBES NAMED TO BEST GREEN WORKPLACES IN OREGON

JUNE 2019 (TUALATIN, OR) – This month, Oregon Business Magazine named its 2019 100 Best Green Workplaces in Oregon, recognizing employers with best-in-class sustainable workplace practices. Hartmann&Forbes, appearing on the list for its eighth consecutive year, ranked at #32 jumping from #48 in 2018.

By cultivating unique natural fibers from well-managed ecosystems and weaving near the source they ensure authentic craftsmanship that leaves a smaller environmental footprint. In addition, each of Hartmann&Forbes natural products are designed and crafted using components that can be recycled, recrafted or composted at the end of its lifecycle.

The company continues to brainstorm on how they can reach the next level of sustainability. “It’s a process that we continue to build on,” explains Pam Ward, Director of Marketing. “Initially, we focused on the environment side of things. But it is more than that. It’s the idea of being socially responsible.”

“The company’s focus on environmentally friendly products naturally carries over into its workforce culture,” says Kim Leagjeld, Sample Director and Chair of Hartmann&Forbes Project Team. “Diversity and inclusion are important factors of sustainability today

Hartmann&Forbes is dedicated to that end with hiring staff through a non-profit that strives to find employment for immigrants and refugees. This practice has brought diverse cultures and languages to the company including Spanish, Ukranian, Russian and Nepalese.
